Play Minecraft on your Raspberry Pi!

Introduction

Minecraft is a sandbox adventure video game developed by Sweden’s Markus Persson, aka Notch, and later by Mojang Studios. Minecraft is a construction and adventure game with creative and survival modes. A free version of the game has been developed for the Raspberry Pi: Minecraft Pi Edtion.

This is the version we propose to install on your Raspberry Pi.

To install Minecraft on the Raspberry Pi, we’re going to use an application manager called “Pi-app”, which allows you to install any type of software on your board. You can download it from the following link:

wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Botspot/pi-apps/master/install | bash

Once installed, you’ll find the Pi-Apps application on your desktop. Clicking on it, we ask if we want to execute the file, so we execute :

When you open the manager, you can see all the software that can be installed on the Raspberry Pi. Minecraft is in the Games section.

All you have to do is install it.

Once installed, Minecraft can be found in the menu of your Raspberry Pi. Once you’ve started up the software, you’ll be offered different configurations for playing Minecraft:

You are asked to choose the name of the player who will represent you in the game:

Once the configurations are complete, all you have to do is play!
