Disk Usage Analyzer (or Baobab) is a powerful graphical utility that allows you to analyze disk space usage on a Raspberry Pi. This tool provides a detailed overview of how storage space is distributed across different disks and partitions, making it easy to quickly locate folders or files that take up the most space.
To install the disk utility on the Raspberry Pi, we will use an application manager called Pi-app, which allows you to install all kinds of software on your device. You can download it using the following link:
wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Botspot/pi-apps/master/install | bash
Once the link is downloaded, you can click on the icon that appears on your desktop. You will need to confirm that you want to run the file:
Once the manager is installed, you will need to look for Disk Usage Analyzer under All Apps:
Once found, all that’s left is to install the disk utility:
Once the disk utility is open, you can see the different drives present on your Raspberry Pi.
In our example, we have the SD card of our Raspberry Pi as well as our Google Drive cloud:
If you add a USB stick, it will also be displayed in the utility.
By clicking on our Raspberry Pi hard drive, we can see the different partitions and folders contained on our SD card:
