PPSSPP (PlayStation Portable Simulator Suitable for Playing Portably) is an open-source emulator designed to run PSP games on multiple platforms, including the Raspberry Pi.

It is known for its ability to enhance game graphics beyond the original PSP capabilities, offering higher resolutions and other visual improvements.

To install the PPSSPP emulator on the Raspberry Pi, we will use an application manager called Pi-app, which allows you to install all kinds of software on your board.
You can download it using the following link:

Once the link is downloaded, you can click on the icon that appears on your desktop.
You will need to confirm that you want to run the file.

Once the manager is installed, you need to look under Games, then select PPSSPP:

Once found, all that’s left is to install the emulator:


Once installed, you can find PPSSPP in your Raspberry Pi menu.
When you start the emulator, here’s what you get:

The emulator displays the folders present on your Raspberry Pi.
All that’s left is to find your PSP ROM. Here, we can see our Grand Theft Auto displayed:
